Guðný Stefánía is a former chair of HSV, 2014–2018. She sat on the UMFÍ and ÍSÍ committee on preparing regional offices for the regional sports federations. She also sat on the Sports and Leisure Committee of Ísafjarðarbær, mostly as chair, and has been a town councillor and deputy town councillor. Guðný has worked extensively within the movement in the Westfjords, especially in football and handball, and has been on the football fundraising committee for many years.

Education: BSc in Sport Science from the University of Iceland, currently studying for a diploma in Management and Leadership at the University of Akureyri.
