46th Federation Council Meeting 2026
The UMFÍ Federation Council is the highest authority in UMFÍ matters between Federation Congresses. The Federation Council consists of the chairs of UMFÍ’s member federations or their deputies, together with the UMFÍ Board or its deputies.
The board must give written notice of a Federation Council Meeting at least 4 weeks in advance, and the meeting must be held before 15 November in years when the UMFÍ Federation Congress is not held.
The 46th UMFÍ Federation Council Meeting will be held at Hótel Ísafjörður on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 10:00.
Practical information

A bus leaves on Friday 9 October at 09:00 from the UMFÍ service centre, Engjavegur 6, 104 Reykjavík. On the way west there will be a short stop in Borgarnes and a meal break in Hólmavík.

UMFÍ’s activities are defined by the UMFÍ Statutes.
The UMFÍ Statutes were updated and approved at the 54th UMFÍ Federation Congress in Stykkishólmur in 2025.
VIEW THE UMFÍ STATUTES (IN ICELANDIC) -
According to Article 10 of the UMFÍ Statutes, the tasks of the Federation Council Meeting are to:
- Discuss the reports of the previous year.
- Approve the accounts of the past year, which must be signed by a certified auditor.
- If any representative at the Federation Council Meeting votes against approving the accounts, they shall be submitted to the next Federation Congress for approval.
- Approve the budget for the next year.
- Discuss UMFÍ’s work between congresses.
